Wait! What is Barketing?

We know you've heard of Marketing, you know promoting and selling products or services, including focusing on market research, lead generation, branding and advertising. Well, Barketing is marketing for those without their own voice.

Think of it this way, Barketing is giving animals, without the ability to help themselves, a way to tell the world about their situation, and why individuals should help through us humans.

How is Barketing different from Marketing?

The simple answer is, it's not, well not completely. It is just a different way of thinking about who the message is coming from, and the purpose behind it all. So instead of promoting and selling products or services for a business, Barketing is about bringing awareness to all of the homeless or helpless animals and framing it in a way that is intended to help them.

So why call it Barketing?

Sometimes to make significant changes, the brain needs a new perspective on an old concept. So we've decided to turn the term 'Barketing' on its edge. Instead of considering it a "me too" or pack mentality form of marketing (similar to saying "we do the same thing as everyone else, listen to/buy from us") we've decided to give it a fresh meaning so it represents standing out from the pack in a way that is helpful. 

Barketing is about giving individual animal champions a way to share and educate others about the mission to ending homelessness vs. just buying another product in a way that is meaningful to the sharer AND receiver.

Barketing is a way to help rescue organizations make a bigger impact in helping animals. 

Where can I make a Barketing impact?

Everywhere. Take a stand, Be Their Voice.

We as Voice of Rescue know Barketing means working with rescues to raise more money, to make their money go further, and to attract and retain more fosters and adopters. They shouldn’t have to reinvent the wheel to make their rescue work, so we offer standardized and optimized materials that will prove successful at any rescue. We offer ready-made packages, like event-kits and swag-kits so they can spend less time shopping for vendors and designing banners and more time chatting with adopters at events, and ultimately rehoming animals.

Individual Animal Champions, like you, can do your part by joining others who also want to help make a difference.

If you happen to work with a specific Animal Rescue Organization, you can gift them the resources they need to make sure they are making the biggest impact. Maybe they need a new website, volunteer resources or just help sharing their message on social media. Whatever it is, you can do a little Barketing yourself to help share their voice.
